Fall 7-Day Door County Packing List
Note: Winter is a great time to visit Door County, but it’s important to note that many businesses shut down for the season (including The Ashbrooke Hotel). We’re going to focus on the seasons that we’re open since most travelers prefer to visit the area during those times.
As summer begins to end on the peninsula, the temperatures in Door County drop significantly. In September, you can anticipate temperatures around 60 degrees, and in October, the temperatures will be around 50 degrees. It might be chilly outside, but as long as you pack accordingly, you can still enjoy your stay in Door County!
- 1 heavy winter coat
- 1 hat
- 1 pair of gloves
- 1 scarf
- 1 sweatshirt
- 3-4 sweaters (bring some for outdoor adventures and others to wear out on the town)
- 3-4 long-sleeve shirts (some will be for layering when you’re spending time outside, some will be to wear out when it’s not as cold out)
- 7 pairs of socks
- 1 pair of boots
- 1 pair of sneakers
- 1 pair of dress shoes
- 3-4 pajama sets (if you don’t like reusing clothes, you’ll need to pack 7 sets)
- 1 bathing suit (we have an indoor pool onsite, so you can go for a swim any time of year)
- Undergarments
- Toiletry bag (we do offer complimentary premium toiletries by Algotherm, but bring whatever items you prefer)
- Travel essentials (cell phone chargers, credit cards, licenses/passports, camera, health insurance cards, backpack/purse, cash, etc.)
Packing Tip: An effective way to save space in your carry-on bag or checked luggage is to wear your heaviest, bulkiest items on your days of travel. If you wear your clunky boots and puffy coat on the plane or in the car, it will save you tons of space during packing!
