7-Day Packing List for a Door County Trip in the Fall/Winter

From October through March, the temperatures in Door County drop significantly. Average temperatures range from 55 degrees to 20 degrees. Stay warm!

  • 1 Heavy winter coat
  • 1 Hat
  • k1 Pair of gloves
  • 1 Scarf
  • 1 Sweatshirt
  • 3-4 Sweaters (some for warmth, some for nice meals out)
  • 2-3 Long-sleeve shirts  (some for warmth, some for nice meals out)
  • 3 Pairs of pants (jeans, warm leggings, dress pants for a nice meal out, etc.)
  • 7 Pairs of socks
  • 1 Pair of boots
  • 1 Pair of sneakers
  • 1 Pair of dress shoes
  • 3-4 Sets of pajamas (if you don’t like to reuse pajamas, you’ll need 7 sets)
  • 1 Bathing suit (the Ashbrooke Hotel has an indoor pool so you can take a dip any time of the year!)
  • Undergarments
  • Toiletry bag
  • Travel essentials (cell phones/chargers, health insurance cards, credit cards, driver’s license, tickets/travel vouchers, camera, etc.)

Packing Tip: An effective way to save space in your carry-on bag or checked luggage is to wear your heaviest, bulkiest items on your days of travel. If you wear your clunky boots and puffy coat on the plane or in the car, it will save you tons of space during packing!

  • Undergarments
  • Toiletry bag
  • Travel essentials (cell phones/chargers, health insurance cards, credit cards, driver’s license, tickets/travel vouchers, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.)

Travel Hack: During your travels, it’s a good idea to keep your most essential items in your carry-on luggage, personal item, or your travel backpack. Things like your license, credit card, and cell phone/charger are crucial when traveling, and you’ll be using them frequently, and you won’t want to lose them at baggage claim or in the suitcase pile in your trunk.
