All About Chives Door County
The Impressive Team
Chives Restaurant has a rockstar team lineup like no other. The owner, JR Schoenfeld, has studied food and traveled the world for over 35 years. What’s his mission? “To always keep it simple, and always use the freshest ingredients available.” Lucas Lindow started at the bottom when he worked as a dishwasher at Chives in high school. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Food Science, he returned to Chives and now serves as Chef. Lucas Schoenfeld is their Certified Sommelier. After showing an interest in mixology, he started bartending when he was 18. Since then he has now earned a certification in wine as a Certified Sommelier from the International Culinary Center in Campbell, California and focuses on providing a topnotch wine list at Chives.
The Standout Menu
The dinner menu at Chives is a menu like no other. They offer local seafood, mouthwatering steaks, fresh soups and salads, and more. A perfect way to start your meal is by ordering the Door County Mushroom Soup, served with creme fraiche and chives. Then proceed to an entree, such as the Pan Seared Sea Scallops or Veal Chop and Chanterelles. Whatever you decide to eat, you’ll leave extremely satisfied.
Chives Has Brunch?!
Are you a brunch fanatic? Then you MUST experience brunch at Chives. From sweet to savory to breakfast to lunch, they have something to satisfy everyone’s palette. Start your meal with the Chicken and Goat Cheese Wontons small plate served with apricot preserves and sriracha. Then move on to the Brioche French Toast served with fresh strawberries and maple syrup. Or, indulge in the DoCo Burger, made from ground short-rib, bacon onion jam, fried egg, and muenster cheese.
