Pick Your Own Sweet and Tart Cherries

During your trip to Door County, embrace the tradition of cherry season and pick your own fruit at the local cherry orchards. Some of the best places around to pick these delicious fruits straight from the cherry tree include:  

Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market

Location: Fish Creek, WI

Only a 6-minute drive from The Ashbrooke Hotel. 

At the Lautenbach Orchard, you can make memories that will last a lifetime and pick your own tart cherries. If you’re interested in sweet cherries, they can be purchased at their indoor market. If you’re interested in taking additional cherry products home with you, the orchard sells fantastic homemade cherry salsa, cherry jam, cherry oatmeal cookie mix, chocolate-covered cherries, and more! If you’re visiting the area during the fall (mid-September to early October), you can pick apples here as well. 

Seaquist Orchards Farm Market

Location: Sister Bay, WI

Only a 27-minute drive from The Ashbrooke Hotel. 

Seaquist Orchards yields approximately 1000 acres of tart cherries and over 50 acres of apples and sweet cherries. On average, the farm can produce about 6 million pounds of cherries per cherry harvesting season—wow! Plus, you can observe their canning facility where they have a viewing area and windows that allow you to see what’s happening in their canning kitchen and packing line. Afterward, head over to the bakery and pick up a freshly-baked homemade cherry pie to take with you.

Location: Sturgeon Bay, WI
