1. Lautenbach’s Orchard Country
Since 1995, the Lautenbach family has provided quality fruit products for the Door County community. Starting September 22nd, you’ll be able to explore their vast apple orchards for a Door County fruit picking experience you won’t soon forget. Bags are provided for picking a wide variety of apples including Macintosh, Honeycrisp, Cortland, and Jonagold. After spending a lovely fall day in the orchards, stop into the old barn shop for specialty foods, wines, and gifts made right in Door County.
2. Choice Orchards
With 200 acres of beautiful orchards, Choice Orchards is one of Door County’s prime producers for cherries and apples. In fact, in the early 1900’s, these exact orchards were a part of the largest cherry producer in the world!
During the fall season, many families have made a tradition out of visiting the orchard for fabulous apple picking. Apple season starts in mid-September and ends in October, so don’t miss your chance to choose your own delicious fruit right from the tree. The orchard also has a wonderful market filled to the brim with homemade ciders, jams, and caramel apples!
